HOW TO HANG YOUR BANNER

The fabric sleeve along the top of the banner allows for a piece of timber dowel to slide through. See bottom of the page for dowel specs.

You will need 2 hooks to hang a single banner - one for each end of the dowel. When hanging a pair of banners, a 3rd hook in the centre is ideal to stop the dowel from sagging in the middle.

The hooks will be visible, so there are options, depending on your style...

For a simple look, use long screws and rest the dowel on top. This is not as secure as using hooks, so only do this if the wall banner is in a position where it won’t be knocked or blown down. You can go one step further and paint the screws the same colour as your walls, although I find I can tuck them in behind the fabric so they are barely visible. If your wall is plasterboard, a plasterboard anchor such as these are easy to use https://www.bunnings.com.au/ramset-nylon-wallmate-plasterboard-anchor-10-pack_p2260973

Cup hooks are another option - still cost effective and simple to use, but hold the dowel more securely. Just remember to check the diameter of your dowel fits inside the hook.

You can source timber, metal and all sorts of hooks online. If you don’t want to make a hole in the wall, removable self adhesive hooks are always a great option.

Of course it is important to hang your banner straight, so make sure to measure carefully or use a spirit level to double check!

TIMBER DOWEL

Recommended diameter:

16 or 18mm - however the fabric sleeve is 8cm tall, so plenty of room for most dowel widths.

Recommended dowel length for hanging single banner: 95cm*

Recommended dowel length for hanging a pair of banners: 175cm*

*These lengths will allow room at each end for hooks. You can buy dowel from Lucky Charlie when placing your order (single width only) - or source from your local hardware store. Many hardware stores will cut it to size for you.
