About Lucky Charlie

Hi, I’m Susie Elliot, the founder of Lucky Charlie.

After a four year stint living in Bali with my husband and children, we returned to Australia in 2019 to begin a new chapter. We bought an acreage in the Byron Bay Hinterland and designed and built our family home. With brand new bare walls and a clear idea of how I wanted to decorate them, I went hunting for simple, impactful artwork to bring warmth and colour into our house without breaking the bank. When I couldn’t find the perfect pieces, the seed for Lucky Charlie was planted.

Now I bring my background in graphic design to the creation of unique, accessible art and homewares.

The name of the brand is a symbol of the connection between the two wonderful chapters in my life – in Bali and Byron Bay – from which Lucky Charlie was born.

In Bali, my family owned a beautiful dog called Lucky, but we had to leave him with close friends when we moved back to Australia. Though we were devastated, saying goodbye to Lucky meant saying hello to our new dog Charlie, who joined the family in Byron Bay. With products designed by me at home, and made with care by skilled artisans in Bali, Lucky Charlie felt like the right name for my next adventure.
